Hello friends. In an effort to keep the blog organized (as I’ve recently added some new categories) I just decided to make another post, linking to the Korean Masters Tour video…that, and the fact that it’s taken me two days to get this thing successfully uploaded! Argh.
However, here it is (and I’ve provided a link in the previous post as well). Music was co-written and performed by my friend and compadre, Fred Fung. Dig.
Hello again, my friends. Well, the text of this post will be rather short, as I simply needed an excuse to post some additional photos from the extremely successful Masters Tour-Asia.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible efforts of our Adobe colleagues in all the regions. So this post serves (in part) as a tribute to them. I tried to find all of the ‘team photos’ that were taken. Sadly, I’m missing a few, and some (key) people are missing from the photos. But you know who you are, and again, my deepest thanks and appreciation for being such wonderful hosts to us.
And now…PHOTOS!! The ‘Soul’ of Adobe Korea…MH, sorry we missed you! Team Taipei. Thanks for the photo, Frances. Some of Team Hong Kong…oh, what a night that was! Team Singapore/Malasia…Raj, Titu, Audrey, Maryann: we’ll get you in the next pic! And man, I truly look like a giant here! LOL. ‘They call me Hagrid…’
Hello everyone. Well, once again I’m writing you after another rocking day of the CS3 Masters Tour, this time from the KL Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With over 425+ in attendance, the setting for this event (this incredible room at the top of the tower) really added a little something extra to the proceedings. Not to mention, the room was in the round, which made for a rather interesting pano (my usual stitching of the crowd image from PSCS3!). The KL Audience, In-The-Round, just before we began Out the Window: The top of the Petronas Towers with crazy ‘open sky’ above.
Hello, my friends! Writing a quick blog post from the stage, live in Singapore. 😉 Once again, a great turnout and a great crowd. I really have to commend all the (Adobe Asia) teams for choosing and filling great venues. Very cool atmosphere and design in this one (with a huge ‘Adobe Masters Tour’ poster behind us, on the stage). An non-stitched pano of the venue–the 480 attendees were in three sections, and the original panorama stitch didn’t really do it justice…so this is just the sections, color corrected and put together
As for the events of the day, we conducted a slightly different program today. We did the usual workflow preso in the morning, clocking in around 2:45, and featuring all three of us. In the afternoon, however, the sessions were to be 1:30hr each, Design followed by Web followed by Video…but then, computer gremlins struck!!
Hello, my friends. I’ve just read that one of my favorite US exports (Starbucks) will be closing down 600 of their stores. It’s been in the news recently, as there’s now a great deal of competition in the ‘personalized’ coffee market. Everyone from ‘new’ copycats to the old-school standbys (ie, Golden Arches) are now offering ‘custom’ coffees; lattes, macchiatos, espresso, etc.
Well, I for one will continue my love-affair with the Seattle-based chain. Many have often said that there’s simply ‘too much/too many’. And this may be true. But I can honestly say this: whether I’m in Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Vienna, Frankfurt, or even the Netherlands, and I simply want a little taste of home, I can go down to the Starbucks and get just that: a truly familiar taste that guarantees a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart. 😉 Long Live Starbucks.
Now…I promised some additional pics from Hong Kong. Last night we held an event at the IFC Building in Kowloon and had yet another amazing ‘view’. Encased in glass, the venue (a place called, The Box) was tres-chic, and oh so groovy, both at night and during the day. Greg snapped a couple of pics which we quickly stitched together in Photoshop CS3. Take a look… From the IFC Building in Kowloon, daytime. And then, night falls… Delivering the Vision @ the Masters Seminar, Hong Kong, July ’08
Lastly, a little out-take from our Korean Press meeting. One of the photographers there snapped this pic at our offices…Audition for our ‘new roles’ perhaps? LOL The Masters Audition for ‘A Chorus Line’ and/or Les Follies Bergeres
From here, we’re onto Singapore, so stay tuned for more updates, more CS3, more pics, and more from the CS3 Masters Tour.
Until next time,
Hello, my friends. Yet another quick update from the road. In the last 48 hours, Greg, Rufus & I have presented to around 1700+ people in both Taipei and Hong Kong, and the CS3 love continues throughout Asia. The crowds are inspired, excited, and this in turn makes for a great show for all. We’re truly humbled and honored to present to you. 😉
As per usual, I’ve tried to take some cool photos. I got a nice pano from Taipei (stitched from 3 photos). What’s unique about the Taiwan venue was that it was actually two separate rooms; one seating 500+; another seating 250. The smaller room was sent a video feed, and they were just as enthusiastic and invigorated, even though we were effectively presenting to them live, via satellite (or, via ethernet/DVI, whatever!) The crowd in Taipei from the ‘main room’ Ruf & Greg have a laugh (probably at my expense!) Listening attentively, waiting to present Breathtakingly-beautiful Hong Kong (from the 57th Floor)
So, that’s all for now, my friends (more photos from H.K. coming soon!) Again, it was truly our pleasure to come visit you in Taipei and Hong Kong. Thanks to all the attendees for your kindness, your great energy, your endurance (staying with us for over 7 hours!) and your dedication to all things CS3 and Adobe. we love you for it!
Until next time,
Blog on. 😉
My friends…where to begin? Well first, if you happen to be a Grand Funk fan, then you’ll know that the title of this blog post is actually a play-on-words, referring to their 1972 Top 30 hit, “Rock & Roll Soul“.
But of course, I’m referring to the ABSOLUTELY STELLAR EVENT we conducted this past Wednesday in Seoul, Korea to an inspired audience of over 3,000 people!! The Adobe Masters Class 2008 has literally left me speechless. The crowd, the reactions, the energy, the positive vibes, and the ‘peace’ signs seen everywhere were just overwhelming, beautiful, and a true Rock&Roll experience!
From the moment we took the stage on Wednesday morning, we knew this was something big. Greg, being a longtime ‘star’ in Korea, kicked off the event. And from that moment on, it was all-systems-GO! Greg, Rufus and I gave our ALL, and the audience gave it right back to us! With simultaneous translation, provided via U.N.-style earpieces to the first 2000+ attendees, it was simply unreal! I mean, we just performed our hearts out, and every bit, every subtle nuance was appreciated, absorbed, and reciprocated with great cheers, whistles, and laughter. Even my jokes about being a part-time hair-model seemed to make the translation. LOL. What more can I say??
But pictures definitely speak louder than words, so here’s some snapshots of the main event… The Adobe Masters on the Big Screen (I hope to post this teaser vid at a later date) Ready to Rock the House! The Masters’ Podium (with totally cool internal lighting) The Venue, *before* people arrived Thousands begin to queue in the foyer of the Grand Intercontinental Ballroom The Morning Session, sourced from 6 different images, stage right

You simply have to see that audience in full-width to appreciate it!
All I can really say is this: It was truly a great honor for me to present to all of you in Korea. And it goes without saying: a HUGE thanks to our incredible Adobe Korea Team: we simply can’t thank you enough for your hospitality, your attention to detail, and your seemingly endless drive to provide the best, and most-engaging experience for both we (the evangelists) and our 3000 new friends. 😉
Love to you all, and I simply can’t wait to return. 😉 A loving look, From Me to You 😉
So, until next time…
Hello, my friends! A quick update from the show-floor at the Grand Intercontinental in Seoul, Korea where our Adobe Masters Class 2008 is a mere 18 hours away!
While in the midst of set-up, I decided to take a video and showcase a little of what the venue looks like. Can you say, OMG? Thousands of seats, 3 huge, Full-HD Resolution Screens (true 1920×1080), JBL Loudspeakers and more…it should be an event to behold! In preparation for Adobe Masters Class 2008, Seoul
So, check back later as I’ll have the full report (with hopefully LOTS of pics!) showcasing the big event. I’m so excited about this gig, words can barely express my feelings. The signage, imagery, promotions, (as well as this really cool teaser vid, featuring the three of us, seen in the background) are all absolutely groovy, hella-stylish, and way cool! Rock On, Korea.
SEE YOU THERE!!
Hello, my friends! Just a quick update from the road to let you know that we’ve arrived in Korea to begin kicking off the CS3 Masters Tour – ASIA.

So, I’ll be writing more soon, but in the meantime, check out this cool online invite that was designed by some of our Adobe colleagues for the Hong Kong event… The Masters Come To Hong Kong
Big kudos to all the Asia teams for really promoting these events! It’s going to be a blast, for sure. So, stay tuned for more and we look forward to seeing you soon.
