‘Create Now’ European Tour Kicks Off With Capacity Crowds

Yesterday marked the first stop of the European ‘Create Now’ Tour and as always, Warsaw proved to be an inspired, awesome crowd with literally every seat in the house filled (and several dozen sitting in or along-side the aisles).

Covering many of the new features brought to Creative Cloud over the past few months, Rufus, Paul and I had the opportunity to showcase new content (all travel themed; largely based around Africa, for which I naturally leveraged even more Sabi Sabi footage) covering workflows for mobile (including the recently released Photoshop Touch for the iPhone and Android devices), design, web and video.

The next show is in Oslo on Monday, and we simply can’t wait to hit the stage again and spread some Create Now/Creative Cloud/CS6 love…and that’s a lot of love to spread!

I just wanted to give a big thanks to all of our fans and users who turned out for the event and made it so special. We always leave so inspired, it truly makes us yearn to return!

Here’s a few snaps from the show. See you on tour, somewhere in the world!

Ask A Pro Friday session: Get Started Creating Video with Adobe Creative Cloud

This Friday I’ll be hosting yet another Ask A Pro session, this time dealing with the basics of getting started with video using Adobe Creative Cloud.

You can register for the online event HERE.
AAP Banner
This session is meant to be for beginners who have not used the video products before, and who are looking to enhance their skills, going beyond the video capabilities found in Photoshop and/or Lightroom.

I’ll begin with a brief overview of how to use Adobe Creative Cloud, and from there I’ll dive right into asset review, ingest and basic rough cutting (with Adobe Prelude); sending media to Adobe Premiere Pro for more editing capabilities, sound mixing, and working with basic effects, and the final section will deal with delivering your video to any device/tablet/screen with Adobe Media Encoder.

Register NOW! Hope to see you there.

Short&Suite Season Finale: Converting Audio Files to Different Bit Rates/Sample Rates

Well, it’s hard to believe that the ‘season’ is already over, and as such, I’m already prepping the next round of ATV videos for the next season of Short & Suite.

The final episode of this series deals with using the Convert Sample Type dialog in Adobe Audition CS6, highlighting when and how to use it.

How To Make Your Audio Broadcast-Safe (ITU-R BS.1770-2 & EBU)

Over the last year I’ve had numerous requests for ‘…a plugin that would allow me to instantly conform my audio files to a particular loudness standard.’

The good news is: we have this feature built-in to Adobe Audition. The not-so-good news is that while I’ve shown this feature several times (in various tutorials), it’s always been part of another video (which makes it extremely hard to find, even for me!).

So, I’m happy bring you a standalone video on how to finalize your audio, in compliance with common Broadcast Standards using Adobe Audition CS6…

What’s also really cool? You can use Audition’s Match Volume feature to normalize dialogue tracks, compute average loudness across a host of music/underscore files, and instantly normalize (either peak or RMS) to any given value. Oh, and there are even MORE loudness options available to you as well (in a drop-down menu)

New Short&Suite: How To Bounce & Mixdown in Adobe Audition

This week’s new episode features bouncing and mixdown options in Adobe Audition CS6. Learn when to bounce/comp tracks together, and when/how to access the various menus for performing those operations. Along the way, I’ll show you the various ‘final mix’ options for creating mono, stereo and 5.1 mixes simultaneously…even exporting track stems from a master multitrack session.

Short&Suite Season 6, Ep 4: Working with 3rd Party Plugins In Adobe Audition CS6

This week’s Short & Suite video tutorial covers working with 3rd Party VST & AU plugins in Adobe Audition CS6. I’ll highlight the plugin manager (and how to enable/disable and scan for installed plugins) and give a brief overview of the performance and working in both multitrack and waveform view environments.

I’m a big fan of WAVES plugins, but keep in mind that any VST/VST3 or AU plugins are supported in Audition CS6.

More next week, so stay tuned.

New Short&Suite Tutorial: Sidechaining In Audition CS6

Well, 2012 is coming to a close, but as promised, here’s the next new episode from my recent sessions at AdobeTV. This one, a very cool new addition to Adobe Audition (and a highly-requested feature for many versions now) features how to use the Dynamics Proceessor in a sidechain, allowing you to use a trigger (ie, a voice-over) to automatically ‘duck’ music underneath it (without doing the previous, manual method of drawing envelopes).

Personalized Videos Are A Hit…Still Time To Get Yours!

Well, the weekend is upon us, Christmastime Is Here Again (Beatle reference) and it’s truly hard to believe that the year is almost over. In any case, the response to my buy-a-song/get-a-video has been overwhelmingly awesome! Thanks to all of you who’ve purchased my tunes!

In any case, I’ve made some of them public for all to view…and there’s still time to get yours! Sure, it’s silly fun; sure, it’s 70s lounge-style kitsch (since it’s just me, in a mellow mood, at the piano). But hey, isn’t that what the holiday season is all about? :) These are live, raw, multicamera videos, played and sung, just for you. It’s all done with natural light with sound recorded direct into the Nikon D800 with a mono Røde Videomic, remastered in Adobe Audition.

If you’d like a video for someone else, I’m happy to do that too! In the meantime, enjoy these…
